Something has been eating away at me for some time now. God has been lying on my heart that I need a radical change. I've wanted and desired a change in me, a change to serve God the way God wants me to serve Him. He's impressed upon me one thing, that I'm not radical for Him. If I'm not radical for Him how can I expect radical things in my life concerning Him?
God wants to ignite a fire in us, He wants to do something radical in us, to revive us, He wants to bring a spiritual defibrillator to our hearts. It seems like the church needs this today don't you think? We need to get up and do something. We need to quite being mundane, monotonous, lukewarm, compromising and being caught up in sin. Let's stop doing it! God is done with the way that I am, with the way that you are, with the way that the church today is. God can come back at any moment and we need a radical church, but until we become radical ourselves the church isn't going to change, we are the church after all.
God wants to start a revival in my heart and in your heart because then what's going to happen is that it's going to ignite a revival in His people's heart. Before it can impact the body it first needs to start with me and with you.
Think about it a moment. This is a heavy responsibility. God wants to use you, He wants to revive you, and He wants to move in a powerful way. This is an awesome responsibility. If you are truly willing, God will bring a new found revival to your heart to live radically. This isn't a comfortable message from God to us. I believe God is saying today to the church at large that He's done. He's saying "I'm done with the lukewarm church. I'm sick of the lukewarm church and I want to spew it out of my mouth". Isn't that what Revelation says? He's done. He wants a church that's on fire for Him. He wants a church that will take a stand for Him. He wants a church that the book of Acts talks about when they brought Jason and the disciples before the rulers of the city and they said these guys right here, we need to do something with they and they said why? Because they are turning the world upside down. This is the church God wants.
We should all want to be a part of the church that is turning the world right side up. God wants to challenge you in your walk right now; He wants to build you up to rebel against the world's rebellion. We need to pray that God will speak to us every day. I believe God wants us to be radical Christians, to be a radical people.
I was talking to my buddy Merriam… Webster online and he said radical is the considerable departure from the usual from the traditional. Radical is an extreme change in existing views, in habits, and conditions. I hope today that you are tired of being the norm. It is my prayer today that you stand before the Lord and ask Him to help you be radical.
