Unlike some of the homosexual groups who supported Barack Obama, the pro-abortion folks are pretty happy with the payday they are in line to get thanks to President Obama's policies. However they are not resting on their laurels until it is the official unreversible policy of the US government that taxpayer funding of abortion worldwide is the normal.
Last week and this week have been busy for those pushing for more funding for international organizations, most specifically U.S. Agency for International Development (U.S.A.I.D), International Planned Parenthood and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) for "family planning" (read: abortion) to be forced into nations that have pro-life policies. Last week some of the advocates briefed Hill staff that all they need for now is $1.2 billion a year. The presenters ignored the overwhelmingly evidence that UNFPA is complicit in forced sterilizations and coercive abortions to keep population numbers down. Instead they mentioned how happy they were that this administration understands the important role "family planning" has to play in reducing disease (i.e. more babies that are aborted, less people to pollute the planet and that we need to feed.)
This morning at 11 AM the pro-abortion Population Action International holds a news Conference/briefing on how to increase abortion in the country of Ghana with the head of Population Action and the former executive director of Planned Parenthood in Ghana. If you are interested you can call into the conference by calling 866-502-8312 (access code: 175888)
Not to be outdone, the UNFPA itself holds a news conference call today at 1:30 PM with "a group of 30 leading family planning experts, including representatives from Bangladesh, Colombia, Guatemala, Kenya, India, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, the United Kingdom and the United States" to address the "current crisis in family planning."
If you wish to participate and ask them about their questionable policies the dial-in number is 888-299-7230; and the access code is: UNFPA
Meanwhile for the adventurous among you please take some time to call your Senators and Representative on a whole host of life issues that are before us, including the Obama Administration and House of Representatives' plan to allow for the taxpayer funding of abortion in the District of Columbia. Or to protest to your Senator the nomination of a judicial activist in Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court. And of course let both chambers know that the groups described above should not get one cent of taxpayer money to fund their pro-abortion agenda world wide.
